Chairman of Kuwait Heart Foundation Faisal Al-Mutawa urged, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, to take utmost precautionary measures to prevent heart and blood vessel diseases in women.<\/p>\n

In a press statement on Wednesday, Al-Mutawa clarified that some of the factors that lead to such health problems are overweight, unhealthy diet and smoking.<\/p>\n

Although cardiac diseases and disorders are commonly known among men, yet women can develop them as well, Al-Mutawa added.<\/p>\n

World Health Organization set March 8th to celebrate women every year and to highlight the importance of promoting women’s health since 10 percent of women have heart diseases due to smoking.<\/p>\n

There are other health problems that women face, Al-Mutawa noted. Therefore Kuwait Heart Foundation always strives to hold more awareness campaigns and promote more means of treatment, diagnosis and rehabilitation that should be put to use, he pointed out.<\/p>\n

International Working Womens Day is marked on March 8. It is a general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women of their economic, political and social achievements.<\/p>\n
